The Powell County Memorial Hospital Association, Inc. ( Hospital ) is a 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) not for profit corporation located in Deer Lodge, Montana. The Powell County Medical Foundation, Inc.( Foundation ) is also a 501 ( c ) (3) not for profit corporation, and is wholly owned by the Hospital. The Powell County Memorial Hospital Association, Inc. is planning to build a new Hospital in Deer Lodge. The current hospital was built in 1964, and the real property is owned by the County of Powell and leased to the hospital. The current Hospital is located in the Southeast portion of town, which is primarily a residential area. The new Hospital will be built in the North Central edge of town, and is located next to the freeway ( Interstate 90 ) and a major road for quick and convenient access.
The new hospital will portray a wellness theme with soothing colors and a quiet atmosphere. The visitor portion of the new hospital will look and feel like a Montana Lodge, therefore providing for a soothing, relaxing, and healing atmosphere. The hospital was strategically designed by Neenan and Company, a nationwide designer and builder of hospitals. Quality patient care, comfortable visitor accommodations, and employee convenience was a must during the design phase of this new facility. This new 16 bed facility will offer similar services as the existing hospital, and consists mainly of emergency rooms, clinic, lab, X-Ray, surgery, life flight, physical therapy, and rehabilitation. Exceptional patient care and service is the number one goal. For example, ambulance delivery of a patient will no longer pull up outside the emergency room, therefore exposing the patient to the elements. The new hospital will have an enclosed ambulance bay, adjacent to the emergency room, and operated with automatic garage doors so that the patients will not be subjected to inclement weather. For visitors and outpatient visits, the new hospital will feature an entrance that will be vaulted with a high, naturally lighted ceiling, and will feature a large fireplace, comfortable chairs, and a café. The café will have a chef that not only prepares exceptional food for our patients, but for our visitors and staff as well. Just inside the main visitor entrance is a large wall specifically designed to recognize our donors.
